April 11 Snow Goose Migration Update

The snow storm in South Dakota has made it to the Sand Lake area. Snow began
falling last night, and by 8:00 this morning, there was 5 inches of snow on the ground.
Snow is predicted to continue through the day, with 2-4 more inches expected.
Yesterday, the large number of snow geese on Sand Lake dispersed and fed in
fields throughout the area. Less than 100,000 came back to the refuge during the day.
