Ducks Unlimited is hosting a free Youth Waterfowl Hunting Clinic for kids 16 and under and their parents/guardians. Participants will learn the necessary skills to enjoy waterfowl hunting. Activities include duck biology, duck identification, decoy spreads, duck calling, retrievers and duck hunting gear. Kids who have hunted before are encouraged to bring a friend who has never hunted. The first 20 kids registered who are 9 and older can participate in shooting training at Capital City Sporting Clays Range. Participants will also have an opportunity to go on a mentored duck hunt during the state youth waterfowl weekend on September 18-19.
The clinic will be held at Ducks Unlimited’s Great Plains Regional Office on Friday, August 6, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shooting activity, for ages 9 and older, is on Friday, August 6, 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, August 7, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
